6 May 2024
We regret to announce a COVID-19 outbreak at our Koh-I-Noor facility in Wembley. Visiting restrictions will apply for the time being – if you have any queries please call the facility.
5 September 2023
Alinea would like to announce the end of RAT test and mask requirements for visitors to our aged care facilities. (If families wish to maintain RAT testing and mask-wearing as a personal choice that will be fine.)
However, a reminder that if you feel unwell then please refrain from visiting a facility. Thank you.
25 January 2023
Screening visitors remains a vital strategy to minimise the potential impact of the recent wave of COVID-19 in Australia.
In line with the Commonwealth Department of Health and Aged Care’s recommendations, we have put the following screening measures in place at Alinea’s residential aged care facilities.
All visitors to:
- show staff a negative rapid antigen test (RAT) before entering the building – test kits provided at entry
- wash hands with alcohol hand wash (provided)
- sign in and out on the visitor register at reception
- wear a mask whilst visiting the service
- do not visit if unwell or sick – stay home and RAT test; if positive isolate for five days & alert Facility Manager
These restrictions may change if there is an infection outbreak, such as COVID or Influenza, at the service.
Check the website for current visiting times.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with our need to protect residents.
3 January 2023
Regretfully, due to an ongoing COVID-19 outbreak at our Osboine facility in Bayswater, visiting will be restricted for the time being. A single visitor may visit for one hour between 8am and 2pm.

4 November 2022
WA’s COVID-19 pandemic State of Emergency is over
Legislation that has supported WA’s COVID-19 emergency response will end today Friday, 4 November.
This means that WA government’s powers relating to public health measures will end.
The transition back to ‘business as usual’ means that individual healthcare facilities (including residential aged care services) can adopt their own infection control processes to protect against COVID-19, as appropriate.
Public health advice for the community remains important, such as:
- stay home and get tested if you have COVID-like symptoms
- register your positive rapid antigen test (RAT) result at HealthyWA
- stay up to date with vaccinations
- wear a mask if you can’t physically distance from other people
- wash or sanitise hands regularly
- do not visit residential aged care services if you are unwell
Alinea’s aged care service revised visitor entry requirements from Friday 4 November include:
All visitors to:
- show a negative rapid antigen test (RAT) before entering the building (test kits provided).
- wash hands with alcohol hand wash (provided)
- sign in and out on the visitor register at reception
- wear a mask whilst visiting the service
These restrictions may change if there is an infection outbreak, such as COVID or Influenza, at the service.
Contact the service for visiting times.
Going forward it is about living with COVID.
18 October 2022

It is pleasing to announce that in line with today’s announcement by the premier we are no longer restricting the number of people that can visit their loved ones.
Immunisation, negative RAT and mask wearing are still required for entry.
12 August 2022
After a period of being Covid-free, we regret to announce that an outbreak has occurred at our Osboine facility in Bayswater.
Two residents and one staff member have tested positive in the Glass wing of the facility – which, consequently, has been designated a ‘red zone’. This means only a single essential visitor may visit a resident (and in the resident’s room only) in the Glass wing. Such visitors must wear full PPE with entry and exit through designated doors. The PPE will be provided.
16 May 2022
Unfortunately, we need to advise of a COVID-19 outbreak at our Osboine facility in Bayswater. If your loved one has tested positive you will be contacted by the facility directly with more details.
13 May 2022
The coronavirus remains a health challenge and, unfortunately, we have had confirmation that our Wembley aged care facility, Koh-I-Noor, has had a number of residents who have tested positive to COVID-19.
As we have previously noted, we remain ever vigilant with regard to COVID-19 and will, as before, keep the loved ones of all residents fully informed of developments.
We strongly recommend that loved ones of residents do not visit the facility unless it is essential. Essential visits can occur between 10am and 4.30pm every day.
Please ring the site to advise of your intention to visit so that we can ensure you understand what the visit will entail as some visitors involved in our partners in care programme will need to use full PPE.
6 May 2022
We are happy to report that the COVID-19 outbreak at Ritcher Lodge, one of our Bayswater aged care facilities, is now officially over.
29 April 2022

28 April 2022
Our Wembley aged care facility, Koh-I-Noor, remains an exposure site (see earlier post). However, as no resident has COVID-19, access to the site for visitors returns to requiring a negative RAT on entry and wearing a mask.
27 April 2022
Just a reminder that although the mandate for wearing masks will be lifted in Western Australia as of 12:01am, Friday 29 April, it will still apply for entry to aged care facilities.
21 April 2022
The coronavirus continues to be a challenge to contain and, unfortunately, we have had confirmation that two of our facilities, Ritcher Lodge (Bayswater) and Koh-I-Noor (Wembley), have had positive COVID-19 tests.
As we shared before, we fully appreciate that this information will distress family and friends of residents affected and we remain committed to keeping all loved ones fully informed of the situation as it develops.
With regard to Koh-I-Noor, only a single wing, Jualbup, is affected with one resident testing positive. Only this resident’s room is a ‘red zone’. All the other residents in Jualbup (an ‘amber zone’) can have up to TWO visitors per day (and continue to follow standard entry requirements). Please note the rest of the facility continues as normal.
In terms of Ritcher Lodge, 11 residents have tested positive and the entire facility has been classed as a ‘red zone’. This means only a single essential visitor may visit a resident (and in the resident’s room only) between 11am and 2pm each day. They must wear full PPE with entry and exit through designated doors. The PPE will be provided.
1 April 2022
We are happy to report that the Covid outbreak in the Gillon wing of our Osboine facility in Bayswater is now over.
However, visitors are still limited to one essential visitor per resident.
There is one resident who has tested positive in the Glass wing but all other residents have returned negative PCR tests.
Please note that all other restrictions are ongoing.
24 March 2022
Unfortunately, with the continuing spread of COVID-19 through the community there has now been an outbreak at our Wembley facility, Koh-I-Noor.
As noted previously, while this may be extremely distressing we are keeping families and friends of residents fully apprised of developments.
Please be advised that visiting hours and current restrictions continue as per normal.
16 March 2022

19 February 2021
It is pleasing to see the Australian rollout of Covid-19 vaccination finally getting underway, with it occurring in some facilities from next Monday. We applaud the Commonwealth Government’s decision that aged care and disability residents and workers would be amongst the first to receive the vaccine. Alinea has been a supporter of the flu vaccination and similarly strongly encourages everyone able to obtain a Covid-19 vaccination. Alinea management and staff are currently assessing the requirements to ensure a smooth roll out across all facilities for both residents and staff once we are provided with a date.
