World Environment Day is celebrated annually on 5 June and promotes global action for protecting the environment, with 2023 marking its 50th anniversary.

This year’s theme is Beat Plastic Pollution and aims to encourage recycling and reduction of single-use plastics.

Plastic waste from the healthcare industry significantly contributes to pollution and is often the result of inappropriate disposal, littering, non-recycling, and mass production of plastics, which continues to climb.

Paraquad Industries is involved with the Containers for Change scheme whereby anyone can recycle their plastic containers and receive a 10c refund for each one at one of the scheme’s Refund Points. Paraquad operates a Refund Point at its Shenton Park base for one of the scheme’s largest operators, Return-It.

To assist anyone wishing to more fully benefit from the service, Containers for Change has just released a new app which offers many features such as a Refund Point Finder, which helps to find your closest Containers for Change refund point, wherever you are.
