Keeping up with latest best practice: Part of internal education and training involves drawing not only on our own qualified instructors but also external ones.

This week, staff from our aged care facilties will be attending a two-day, Health-Department-funded Program of Experience in the Palliative Approach (PEPA) course which is being delivered by an external trainer – a palliative care Nurse Practitioner who works for the QLD University of Technology. (QUT oversees the course.)

PEPA forms part of the Palliative Care Education and Training Collaborative. As a national palliative care project, the Collaborative takes a strategic approach to education and training of the healthcare workforce and delivers programs for priority healthcare provider groups across primary, secondary and tertiary settings.
