Alinea has just installed a new historical wall display in the Admin area of our Shenton Park HQ. The display details the story of the organisation – from its roots in two forerunner organisations, the Civilian Maimed and Limbless Association and the Paraplegic-Quadriplegic Association (stretching back to the tail end of the Second World War), to today’s Alinea, encompassing aged care facilities, op shops, a container recycling point, and much more (in addition to our continuing heritage in assisting people with a disability).

The idea of creating some kind of display detailing such history was first discussed a couple of years ago but the project proper began in July last year. After 13 months of research and then drafts of layouts, among other things, the display went up earlier this week.

The location of the display, immediately outside the training room where large numbers of our staff undergo various training sessions throughout the year, was determined so it may help inform our staff about the story they have become a part of by joining Alinea.

The last part of the project is now being finalised: this will comprise a virtual version of the display which will soon appear on a dedicated web page on the Alinea website.
