It’s NAIDOC Week and Ritcher Lodge celebrated it the other day with a concert and some artistic activities.

The concert was organised through the family of one of the Lodge’s indigenous residents, Judy Humes. A special performance of six dancers and two didgeridoo players took place and Judy’s grandson, Rex, was one of the dancers.

Rex made a moving speech in which he dedicated the dances to his grandmother.

NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.
